16:30	In flooded field, also more redwing than I can ever recall seeing, there was a flock flying through, and it was never ending, I stopped on my bike and just stood there transfixed, this flock was at least ten minutes long, couldn't even guess a figure, absolutely amazing.

20:15	Seen from Gilbury hard. I followed a flock of 6 flying down Beaulieu river through my scope and eventually they landed in a large tree, I then noticed the tree was full of Egrets. The tree was very distant but I could make out 16 and then further groups of 4,4 and 4 and two singles also landed, so at least 30, but this is an underestimate as undoubtedly more were hidden, I don't recall this roost being mentioned before. I will have to check this again and hopefully get there early enough to watch them all coming in. This is half a mile south of Bucklers hard on the same side of river.

10:30	51 birds present today in the heronry. Before the foliage grew up in late April there was a minimum of 27 nests. Possibly as many as 32 pairs. Cattle Egrets had three nests on the go in mid April. Chicks hatched in one nest, then a week later they were gone. Probably predated. At the same time, the other two nests were abandoned. So not good news for the Cattle Egrets this summer.
