Took off from the reeds in front of duck bay, then proceeded to fly high and west towards Warsash. Probably the longest flight I've ever seen them perform.

A rough estimate. An unbelievable number of Beardies, pinging and flitting about in various small groups, in the reed beds in front of the viewing platform. Mostly staying low in the reeds after landing.

fem. Scrub belt. Completely unexpected patch tick. Initially in an elderberry bush before dropping down to feed amongst some thistles and teasels along the field edge. Not seen one so far from water before.

Descended into reeds at last "pool" as you approach the Spit from Warsash just before the small concrete ruins. Stayed a few minutes up and down from reeds before disappearing. Very close views but impossible to photograph!
