Probable
what I believe to be the bird seen in the same location yesterday. Pale head. No flecking. Very dark eye. Head shaped like a guillemot egg with a sloping forehead and a crown peak behind the black eye. It looked long faced, an image enhanced by the long black bill with straight culmen and the mandibles parallel so hardly a hint of a gonys dip. Tarsals looked long and a dirty grey/pink colour. Before I could set up my scope a peregrine flew through and flushed all the smaller gulls and teal and a couple of seconds later the large gulls left too. I waited 25 minutes but it did not return.
