Shearwater Species presumably flushed off the sea by the many Sail Boats it was passing as it went off east. All of the Large Shears were 100%ruled out but unfortunately in the light conditions mainly looking into the sunshine across the water I couldn't get a positive Id either way to separate Manx from Balearic! Or enough time to observe it before I lost it across the Solent looking east into the sunrise and if I'm honest my concentration levels weren't great originally ! or even expecting to even see a Shearwater after yesterday's Disastrous Shearwater Seawatch. Ironically it was probably the closest Shearwater I have seen off Hill Head! But sometimes you just have admit you were beaten by the bird!

East mid channel. Presuming same bird seen passing Ryde identified as Balearic but binocular views at the time by myself would leave at Shearwater sp.

single flock of at least this number initially heading east at range, but then the flock turned and came in reasonably close in a line with Chi Hbr entrance before turning back and heading SE.
