Thrilled to see a group of curlews in flight together. Some calling. After 10 mins, 3 off into the distance towards the village and 1 flew back towards Westfield area, Long Crendon.

1m,1f,+? Probably 8. Two birds seen earlier in day (with Richard Goodlad); a ringed bird chasing another bird. Around 13:00, three birds seen simultaneously on main meadow. Ringed bird (female) observed mating at 14:18. Pair stayed around centre of main meadow - appeared to take turns on presumed nest there. Additional five birds flew in 14:54, initially to main flood, then to main meadow nr Hide 2 at 15:14. Then over to Entrance field at 15:31, and possibly back towards field S of reserve / Three Points (?) after 45mins or so. Ringed (nesting?) female had white ring (numbered '21') on left leg; yellow band at top of right leg, also appears to be silver ring above right foot. Max birds seen at one time = 7, although I think 8 were around.

In hide log book that one was seen with Colour rings on both legs. Don't think we've had ringed one before,will be interesting to see where ringed, think it said yellow and a white ring.

After visiting my birdwatching site, nr Shabbington, for weeks and often hearing the curlew's call, finally heard then saw 2 curlews together! They were fairly near and I could id them, then they flew off together towards Westfield in Long Crendon. SP679076.

Heard calling on two separate occasions , from the Static Caravan park and further along the bridleway near the Rally Field. Could not see it though. 1100 - 1115. (I see someone else also heard it which I'm pleased about as I thought I was going mad).
