15:30 Advised by other birders hoopoe not seen for 1hr or so. Heavy rain and hail at 16:00. 16:50 bird sighted by Mike & Jane Overall just as they started to leave! Bird remained near yellow dumper truck in paddock until at least 18:00 when I left.

Still present in Hedgerley Green Village in paddocks that are next to the footpath that runs south from the village. Please don't park in the village.

Found by Colin Barnes in Hedgerley Green around 9am. Showing well around the horse paddock and mown areas. Strictly NO PARKING in Hedgerley Green but able to walk from Hedgerley village via the footpath past the church.

Good - though brief - view from 20 metres in the middle of the large site. The bird had been under observation for the previous 45 minutes. I was advised that the landowner does not welcome the attention; to reduce the potential for conflict, it's important to keep to the somewhat ill-defined footpath.

Quite mobile but faithful to the north east corner of the set-aside field. Park near the footbridge over the M1.
