Looked like the same bird as seen here on 2/3, but a much better view of it on the ground this time. Appeared slightly larger & much paler than the Lessers, with greyer, colder brown upperparts. White streaks on back, white wing-bar & pale rump (probably faintly steaked but no pink. Underparts very pale & no sign of pink, but a very red forehead. Another bird looked similar but less distinct & with very pale pink upper breast. The typicals Lessers looked very brown by comparison. SU802323.

PossibleA distinctly pale bird, standing out from the rest of the flock. Appeared more grey-brown with whiter wingbar, but I couldn't get a good close view as the flock was rather flighty. SU8032.

One large & very white Redpoll with faint pinkish tinge to breast & white rump, feeding in Larches with 20+ Lesser Redpolls & numerous Siskins, and coming down to drink from puddle on path where path heading NNE by open field turns NW into wooded area. Still present at about 14.15 on my way back. SU763116.
