| adult. The suspected Lesser Black-backed x Herring Gull first seen on 7th January, resting on the lake with other gulls for a while before heading off north. | ||||

| ad. A suspected hybrid Herring x Lesser Black-backed Gull, initially thought to be an adult Yellow-legged Gull at first glance yesterday but further review of images and other opinions pointing to it being a hybrid bird. Dark grey, slightly blueish toned mantle (but greyer than Yellow-legged Gull), light yellow legs, quite heavy streaking to the head. Seen briefly with mixed gull flock on the lake before it went off to the northeast. Images in the website gallery. | ||||

| ad. A suspected Lesser Black-backed x Herring Gull hybrid. Initially thought to be a Yellow-legged Gull in the field but further comments and review of images led to this conclusion. A fairly dark grey mantled bird, though lighter than Lesser Black-backed Gull with a slight blueish tinge, longish bill, prominent streaking to the head and fairly pale yellow legs.
