A lot more difficult to spot today as with several hundred other gulls resting in a tightly packed flock on a flat gravel area on the south side of the quarry at around 51.5877,-0.6580(maps.google.com/?t=k&q=51.5877,-0.6580). Flock included around 30 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls so numbers of these have increased recently. Viewed with Dick Seekins. | |||

| 10:00 | It was great to finally see the Iceland Gull at Springfield this morning. I initially saw it drop down into the meadow on Castleman's Farm at around 51.5845,-0.6628 (maps.google.com/?t=k&q=51.5845,-0.6628) It was flushed over onto the gravel in the quarry where, as mentioned by Dave Cleal, we were able watch it for over 30 mins. | |||

| 11:30 | Located by PJS on the Castleman' Farm field but flushed to the area of exposed gravel & mud on the southside of this huge landfill complex. It was sitting up on a ridge of mud accompanied by 4 Herring Gulls, giving excellent views. Still lots of gulls over the landfill area to the north of the site , so very lucky it chose this spot to loaf. With PJS & JE. | |||

| My first Iceland Gull for the Tattenhoe area, watched and photographed for about a minute as it flew to the south west before suddenly turning to the south and heading towards Newton Longville. Very dull light at the time but clearly a very pale bird against the dark sky. 2 images in the gallery. | ||||

An absolute beauty of a cream coloured northern beauty. a 1st Winter bird seen on the Ice at mount farm in company with 2 Herring Gulls and 8 Black Headed Gulls. preened for a few minutes and then headed off West. Hopefully it will get picked up at Newton Leys Or in the Caldecotte Roost. | |||
