| 09:15 | fem. Picked up swimming with a Gt Crested grebe off Pennington, drifted West to the jetty with the ebb tide and then flew back towards Oxey marshes, did this twice whilst we were there. The excellent light and 60x mag' were a help but the huge bill & headshape well seen. Pale patches on head hard to see but judging by the large lenses of the Hants birders present there will be plenty of good pictures on their Going birding gallery. Seen with Andy Butler. | |||

| 10:15 | Off Pennington sea wall. Not readily identifiable with x30 scope but line of tripods / lenses on sea wall behind indicative. Thanks to PC for the info. | |||
