15:30
When I arrived there were seven Egrets in the scrubby field below the Haversham Road. My thanks go to Citizen Coppock; for they may have remained as seven Little Egrets if he hadn't forewarned me of the Cattle Egret amongst them!

On cattle crossing in front of weir by North Bucks bridges. Adult winter. Orange bill, black feet and small size. I am well familiar with all species of Egret as I have a home also in North Norfolk. SP877440.
27/09/20CATTLE EGRETFloodplain Forest Nature Reserve (formerly Manor Farm)1I Matson
19:00
non breeding ad plumage, or possibly juv in 1w plumage with yellow bill. Seen in the lagoons nearest the southern path just to the east of Farm Hide at around 19.00 give or take a few minutes. Within 10 minutes it took flight to the east (maybe landed in the Viaduct Hide lagoons?) as it was seen off and followed by a Little Egret. It seemed to pester it a while before they took flight. Is this a first record for this site? SP806421.

17/09/20CATTLE EGRETLittle Marlow GP2K Holt
19:45
Thought to be both Cattle Egret but entered roost site separately and with no accompanying Little Egret. The first was seen at 18:55 and confirmed by yellow bill. The second flew in at 19:35. Scoped view from southwest corner appeared to show yellow colour on the bill. Unable to confirm from closer views due to lack of light. Possibly the 2nd bird was a Little Egret.
16/09/20CATTLE EGRETLittle Marlow GP2K Holt
18:45
Flew in from west. Without the company of the little egrets.

15/09/20CATTLE EGRETLittle Marlow GP2K Holt
19:10
No sign of these flying in. Probably hidden from view and came in with the usual 3 little egret. Flew out from north side of main island and perched with two of the little egrets. 15 minutes later all of the little egrets were perched with the Cattle Egrets - a good view of eight white shapes in the failing light.

Only my second record of the species at the lake in many years of birding there. Well done to Nick M for finding them.

Probable
Probable CATTLE EGRET, seen when driving (essential journey), flying low across A41, heading NE, from Aston Clinton into Drayton Beauchamp. 95% certain, quick wingbeats, awkward look, stubby looking bill, not elegant or clean white, no yellow feet even in bright sunlight from behind me. Only doubting myself because I was driving at the speed limit so couldn’t look properly or safely for more time once it passed over road.
