11:00 | A compact flock of adult birds far out in F2; noticeably buoyant flight with intermittent dips and rises. After quartering around, they rested for a while, bobbing about in the water till flushed by a speed-boat. Initially thought to be Common Terns, till photographs were viewed on screen. One bird briefly alighted on a buoy, when the long primary projection could be seen. White cheeks contrasting with greyish underparts, translucent primaries with blackish trailing edge too noticeable on images. Was there till 1200 noon when I left. |
