Flock numbers reducing now. Also, incidence of peat stained individuals is reducing. Irish winter birds moved on or staining cleaned off by oxon waters?

Individual differences in soft parts colour and stage of aigrette growth.

Each one with different patterns on soft parts. 2 sporting breeding colours of varying intensity. One still yellow bill, no aigrettes, pale legs still. I find literature on ageing very thin. Including manuals.

Near hide. Quite scarce here, though small flock was present N end of Langley Lane this winter.
