12:47 | Seen very briefly emerging from reeds at western end of site at 100m before skulking back into reeds. Decided to keep eyes on, then at 1342hrs it re-emerged. Good views for 20mins. I moved position and scoped it from 60m, until i lost it among the reeds. A first for me. 1st record at this sight? . | |||

12:30 | Single bird seen at 1230hrs and multiple sightings thereafter (presumably the same bird) until 1353hrs when a pair were seen together at western end. 1334hrs a low flying buzzard being harassed by a gull and a crow. Headed north. | |||

08:00 | FUSNEY COPSE MOOR.. PROPOSED SANGS (field of dreams) south of canal,birds active in 3 hectares of frosted fleabane with 6+wren, much calling and dueting plus occasional good views. Hope the birds survive the hunting barn owl here. The SANGS would trash a very special bird assemblage here that responds to wet rough habitat, large scale and lack of disturbance. |
