Feeding and resting on mini golf course and playing field with 21 Oystercatchers. At 15.30, they all became alert and looked towards the chalet complex then took off to the north. I checked Brambles Farm but there was a man in the field and the weren't there. Two Brent Geese returned to the playing field at 16.00 but none of the others had returned by 16.30. SZ331886.

16:30
Feeding on mini golf course and playing field. They had been here since at least 14.29 as I had counted 124 then. I had then gone to Yarmouth, where there were at least 122 birds on the river near Barnfields Stream at 15.45 hrs. These flew up into the farm field south of Mill Copse Scrape. I then went back to Brambles Chine Holiday Camp with my telescope and there were 137 Brent. At 16.40 hrs, they all flew up and headed across the Solent towards Hurst Castle and Keyhaven. I lost them behind Hurst Castle but then saw some Brent Geese come down in the area of Keyhaven marshes. There was a larger flock of Brent Geese flying around at the time and so the birds I saw land at Keyhaven may have been from another flock. The man in the office at Brambles Chine Holidays said that the geese regularly feed on the mini golf course and playing field. He said that they are quite flighty. They flew up a couple of times when I was observing them on my first visit as people were using the footpath near the cliff edge. SZ332886.
