07:15 | Not 100% as it was seen briefly flying away from N over the trees on the spit. A large wader with solid brown wings and a white triangle up the mantle, so either Curlew, Whimbrel or Barwit. Flight style, size and location favours Whimbrel. | |||

| 11:10 | Initially spotted in the north west corner of the lake from the bank above the orchard, with one bird going out of sight towards the gate. A very quick hike around the top of the reserve to the Marsworth Hide then gave excellent views. At 1140 both birds flew to the bund where they remained until about 1600. | |||

| 11:15 | First one bird found, then a second appeared, whilst supporting the Birdrace team. Birds were mobile around the far bank of the main lake, feeding on the grass and being chased by gulls. Also seen shortly after by the birdracers (SRN, DJB, AB & DS) and other visitors to the reserve. | |||
