Why do I get emails for some sightings, and not for others?
Emails are only sent for species with a rarity rating of "very scarce" or higher.
Text Alerts
Can I receive bird news by text message?
Unfortunately the cost and administrative overhead means that I have no plans to offer text message alerts at the moment.
Submitting News
I don't want my records of rare breeding birds made public. How can I stop this?
Some rare breeding birds are automatically blocked and will not be made public. If you have any concerns there is a "confidential" tick box that can be ticked to ensure the record won't be made public.
If I enter a new site why do I have to enter a grid reference?
As the records may get used in the County Report you must supply a grid reference when you enter a new site. The grid reference can be either four or six figures.
Will the records I submit get forwarded to the County Recorder?
Yes, the County Recorder will periodically download records from the database.
