| 07:35 | juv. 07:35 Towards SE corner of lake (wind light breeze from W), looking around a lot, not feeding. Moved along E side of lake. 07:40 short straight flight twds SW corner, followed by swim/dive back to E side. 07:47 short straight flight as before, followed by swim/dive back to E side. 07:52 (as sun rose) took off again, this time doing about four clockwise laps of S half of lake before landing in S third of lake. Swam back to E side, preening/stretching on the way. Ended up very close to reedbeds on E side. Did a few very short dives (not feeding as far as I could tell). 08:14 took off again, couple of laps of S half of lake (one anticlockwise, one clockwise), gaining height all the time. Last seen heading N along divide between BBOWT and Sailing lakes around 08:16. | |||

| 16:00 | 1st wint. Still present, great bird Richard - Thx. Did a bit of flying around whilst I was there, 3 times to flew to West side, swam back then flew again only to repeat it ! On the last occasion it completed 4 laps of the lake. Is it getting those wing muscles ready for a longer flight ? | |||
