Significant arrival of birds since yesterday afternoon. Black-headed gull colony beginning to establish itself on the east island and now five oystercatcher on the reserve. Also five redshank on the Marsh chasing each other around and displaying. Periodically commuting up to the north shoreline of the lake. Amazingly one of the redshank is the bird Ringed on the Orwell Estuary in 2019 and back for a fifth successive year arriving nearly two weeks earlier than 2023.
