14:40 | 1 w/p. Seen at 1440 from Castlemanns wheeling around in large flock to west of dump after being discovered here by D Bevan. Last seen on the rubbish at 1600 when work and falconer finished. Half the 1000+ large gull flock flew off West at 1620. Apart from last sighting on rubbish was spotted and lost 8 times in wheeling gull flock. Seen with D Cleal. | |||

13:00 | juv. Yesterday's juvenile returned to the spit and showed very well for several hours throughout the afternoon. At one point, after a flight, it was one of a very few lwhg left on the spit. | |||

15:20 | Juvenile seen earlier at LMGP & at this site, still present at this time. Viewed wheeling around the site with other large gulls and slightly later, picked up on the ground in a feeding frenzy following a delivery of rubbish. Seen with Dick Seekins. | |||

12:30 | The Spade Oak juvenile had fortunately relocated here and was roosting with 330+ large white-headed gulls on the banking, after the falconer had been scaring the gulls away from the rubbish. After a while, the birds returned to feed, the bulky Glauc joining in in the frenzy. It was a typical bleached juvenile, appearing extremely white in flight, with a large pink bill dipped in ink at the tip. David J Bevan and I observed it for about 15 minutes before the flock returned to the bank and it could not be relocated. | |||

13:44 | juv. Large Herring Gull sized all white gull, with long straight beak with black tip, slight light grey shading to front of head, pink legs. Watched standing on bank for about 45 minutes until vanished when all gulls flew up. Photographed. |
