2 cy ( first wint). Colour Ringed. Note this is a Hybrid Caspo X Herring. Ringed on it's left with a yellow ring and X53V in black. Ringed on 06/06/2022 as a chick at Laubig, Sachsen, Germany 51.34 North, 12.38 E. Re-sighted - 18/08/2022 at Skegness, Lincs. 17/12/2022 at Cotesback, Leics. Then today. .

juv (1cy). Colour Ringed. Possibility of some hybrid in this bird but only seen breast on and briefly. Ringed on right leg above knee with Green, and 40 seperated by a line around the ring in white. A new 1w with a damaged right eye. This bird was seen at Furzton Lake in late January. A 2w, the bird that was regular here late last year but the first sighting since December.

Both 1st winters - the regular bird seen since last July and another darker, slightly more streaked around the eye, with a heavier looking bill tip. Looked within variation and had a nice whitish underwing. With DB.

1st wint. A cracking bird present, stood on ice on the small lake before flying to the tip. A classic looking bird on the deck and in flight.

2 first-winter types present among a large mixed gathering of gulls. Both were notably pale around their heads and necks compared to the Herring-types present, though one had a much whiter and less speckled head than the other. One also had slightly duller coloured legs. Otherwise, both had very similar plumage. Images in the gallery.
