Very surprised to see such a large group of Mandarin together under the trees near the June Ives Hide. Included five drakes. Typically the reserve has very occasional brief visits from one or two birds.

male. Presumably the male found earlier in the month, still at the same part of the brook but now in duller "eclipse" plumage. Just a few hints of the orange frill on the neck and a little bit of the reddish breast left. Also mobbed by a Moorhen.
