Seen (clearly in scope) on far side of flood amongst c 17 other Common snipe- good size comparison to other snipe, smaller & shorter bill, darker more compact head profile (obvious eye stripe). And of course bobbing away as it disappeared into the ditch just behind the flood.

Bird flew in and landed beneath the wooden boat pontoons about 5 metres in front of me. I walked down the grass and around the side for a better look. Bird flew low west towards the carpark affording great views in the binoculars. Suspect it was flushed off the island by some noisy Canada Geese as it had literally landed in shallow water, against wooden boards.
