Bird news in the field
There are two ways of getting bird news in the field.
Mobile website
There is a mobile optimised version of this site which allows you to view and submit news on your mobile phone. This requires that your phone can view WAP pages. All but the very simplest or very old phones will be able to do so. Only species with a rarity status of "scarce" or higher are shown. You can also submit news but you do need to login to do so. I recommend you bookmark the submit page to save you having to login every time. See the "Rare Bird Alerts" page for the mobile website address.
Most counties have a dedicated email list for bird news. Every time a species with a rarity status of "scarce" or higher is reported an email is sent to the list. Providing you have a phone that can receive emails you can subscribe to this email list to get bird news email alerts in the field. See the "Rare Bird Alerts" page for details on how to subscribe.
